Today is National Farmer’s Day and we’re using today as an excuse to shine a much deserved spotlight on one of the amazing local farmers we work closely with for your Meisterdish dinners.
Lancaster Farm Fresh Co-Op is a non-profit organic farmer’s cooperative of over 100 family farmers headquartered in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. They focus on creating healthy high quality foods from highly maintained and enriched soils on small-scale family farms.
The produce we source from Lancaster is certified organic unless otherwise noted. The animal products we purchase are from small family farms with small herds and flocks. These animals always have access to pasture and enjoy the freedom of foraging through the grasses with the earth under their feet.
We are excited to announce that we’ll be ordering Pasture Raised Heritage Turkey from our friends at Lancaster for your Thanksgiving celebration this year. The flavor of their pastured turkey is far superior due to varied food sources and active lives – and we know, because we have been testing out Meisterdish turkey recipes this month!
We are working hard behind the scenes here at Meisterdish on irresistible Thanksgiving packages (with all the sides, trimmings and indulgent holiday desserts!), that’ll make hosting a Thanksgiving lunch or dinner at home a total breeze.
