Our Favorite Fall Ingredients

Fall is one of the best times of the year- between Halloween, pumpkin spiced everything and the beautiful weather. But another great thing that’s not talked about often is the amazing foods that are in season during this time. Here we’ll discuss some of our favorite fall ingredients and why we love them!

1. Cauliflower

Cauliflower is a great detox food and is known to strengthen your immune system. It also aids in reducing blood pressure and is even studied that it reduces the risk of cancer.

2. Sweet Potato

Not only are sweet potatoes delicious and beautiful in color, but they also have many health benefits as well. A study done by  Food & Nutrition Research found that sweet potatoes contain certain antioxidants which have been shown to benefit eyesight. Sweet potatoes are high in fiber which means they also promote a healthy digestive system.

3. Brussel sprouts

Brussels sprouts are an amazing source of vitamin K. Half a cup (78 grams) of cooked Brussels sprouts contains 137% of your daily vitamin K requirement (1). Brussel Sprouts are also known to keep blood sugar levels steady, and multiple studies have found a link between them and a decreased risk of diabetes.

4. pomegranates

Pomegranates are a perfect way to brighten up and add some color to a dish. And, according to Medical News Today, the antioxidants in the juice and their high concentration are believed to stall the progress of Alzheimer disease and protect memory. It may also help reduce soreness, improve strength recovery and decrease oxidative damage caused by exercise.
