5 Easy Tips for Eating Healthier

Sometimes it can seem overwhelming and difficult to transition to a healthier diet. We get it! Here are a few easy tips to get started and make your way into a healthier lifestyle.

1. Cook at Home More

We all know that eating out can often lead to eating unhealthy foods. Not only is eating out usually unhealthier, but the portion sizes are usually way off. Cooking at home gives you the chance to know exactly what you’re eating, and to measure how much you’re eating.

2. Try One New Healthy Recipe a Week

Trying one new healthy recipe a week is a great way to learn new recipes, find new healthier ingredients, and have something fun to look forward to each week! Eventually, you’ll discover which ingredients you enjoy working with and which ones you don’t, which will make it easier to cook healthier on your own in the future.

3. Drink More Water

This advice is so simple, yet can make a huge difference in your lifestyle. Not only is drinking water a great way to become healthier, but it also helps with controlling your appetite. Often times, people can confuse the feeling of hunger with thirst, so its a great idea to drink a serving of water before eating every meal.

4. Try Baking Instead of Frying

Fried foods may seem more appetizing, however, if you find the right recipe, baking foods can taste just as good. Baking is much healthier due to its lack of oil and is a great way to prepare your favorite vegetables. However, if you’re really missing the taste and texture of fried foods, try an air fryer! These use almost no oil and is a great healthy alternative to a regular fryer.

5. Use Smaller Plates

Using smaller plates, or appropriately sized plates can make a huge difference in the amount of food you are consuming. We all know how easy it can be to eat more than one serving size, especially when you’re using a larger plate. Using smaller plates will encourage you to take the correct amount of food, which will result in staying in your appropriate calorie range for the day.
